and the credit card used when you applied.

Note: In some cases, the application process may take longer. For example, if you have a driver’s license outside the U.S. or Canada, the process for checking your driver’s record will take longer as we will need you to send us your record.

Can I join if I have a driver’s license from outside the U.S. or Canada?
bullet Yes, iCar accepts licensed drivers from every country. You will need to contact your country’s motor
vehicle records department to obtain an official copy of your driving record (translated into English), or if
your country does not have a department of motor vehicles, you will need to contact your previous
automobile insurance provider in your country and obtain adequate insurance documentation and proof of
  driving history.
bullet All applicants with a foreign driver’s license must contact their country’s motor vehicle records
department directly to obtain their record. All documents must include the name of the applicant.
If you obtain records that are not in English, notarized or official translations must be supplied.
bullet If you have information you’d like to share with other prospective members about obtaining
driving records outside the U.S. or Canada, please email info@iCarSharing.com and we will
  include that information here.

Do you offer business, school or non-profit memberships?
bullet Yes. If you are an organization on the go and need Wheels to Go, iCar does offer discounted rates .
Monday – Friday for small to large businesses. For more information, please email info@iCarSharing.com

Do you offer household or family memberships?
bullet Yes. Once you become a member, you may add other drivers to your account. The first
member must have completed the application process before additional drivers can apply to be
added to the account. There is a $25 application fee for each additional driver.
bullet Each additional member will have their own iCard to access cars as well as their own username
and password for making online reservations.
bullet All household and family members are on the same driving plan and all charges will be billed to
the first member’s credit or debit card on file.

iCar Usage:

What type of vehicles do you have?
bullet We have the most fuel efficient and low emission fleet in the industry, including: Nissan Cube, Nissan
Versa, Suzuki SX4, Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Prius and Flex Fuel passenger vans that
  carry up to 15 people.

Where are iCar vehicles located?
bullet Vehicles are located in parking garages, lots and spaces throughout your neighborhood. Find iCars
  near you.

What are the rates?
bullet Rates vary by vehicle type, day of the week and time of day. You can reserve an iCar vehicle for as little
as an hour or days at a time through either our Prepay Value Savings Plan or our
Pay Per Use Plan. Rates start at $5 per hour. Visit Find iCars for more information.
bullet Guess what? Your hourly rate will never exceed the daily rate and the daily rate will never exceed
  the weekly rate.

How do I pay for iCar?
bullet We require a credit or debit card during the member application process. iCar accepts all major credit
cards, including American Express, Diner's Club, Discover, Mastercard and Visa. Your credit or debit
card will be initially charged your application fee, your annual fee or your monthly commitment (if you
selected the iCar Prepay Value Savings Plan) and applicable taxes.
bullet Once you become a member, your driving charges will be billed to your credit or debit card on file once
you have completed your reservation. This process is automated and electronic – one of the
many conveniences of iCar. You can view all of your monthly statements and transactions online
when you are logged into our Member Login.
bullet Note: For reservations for more than 3 days or if an original reservation is extended beyond 3
days, we will charge the member’s debit or credit card on file for the full cost of the reservation
  within 24 hours.

Is mileage included?
bullet Yes. For most vehicles, 180 miles are included with each reservation up to 24
hours. So, if you reserve a car for an hour, 180 miles are included in your reservation. If you
reserve a car for a day, you still get 180 miles. Each additional mile over 180 miles per day is 40 cents
  per mile.
bullet For specialty vehicles, 150 miles are included with each reservation up to 24 hours. Each
additional mile over 150 miles is 40 cents per mile.
bullet For reservations that exceed 24 hours, you get 20 miles for each additional hour up to a
maximum of 180 miles per day. So if you reserve a vehicle for 1 day and 2 hours, your
reservation includes 220 miles (180 + 40). If you reserve a vehicle for 1 day and 9 hours (or up to
2 days), your reservation includes 360 miles. Weekly reservations include 1,000 miles per week.

What’s the deal with insurance?
bullet Liability, collision, and comprehensive coverage is included for all iCar members. There is a $500
deductible for each occurrence requiring use of collision and comprehensive coverage.
bullet A partial or complete collision damage fee waiver may be purchased during the application process or at
any time by members who would like to reduce or eliminate their collision damage fee waiver.
If a collision damage waiver is purchased after the application process, coverage will go into effect the first
  day of the next month.
bullet Supplemental liability insurance is also available and may be added when booking each reservation at an
hourly or daily rate. Supplemental liability insurance provides members with up to $1 million in additional
  liability coverage.
bullet For more information, please email info@iCarSharing.com.

How far in advance can I book an iCar?
bullet You can book a vehicle up to a year in advance.

How do I get into an iCar?
bullet Each member must use their iCard in order to enter an iCar vehicle. Each iCard has a unique
number assigned to the member. When you book a reservation, the vehicle is expecting you and
your iCard at the time of your reservation. When you get to the car, simply hold your iCard above
the card reader on the lower driver’s side of the windshield for a few seconds and the door will unlock and
  you are ready to go!

How do I get the keys?
bullet The key is located under the steering column on a key tether.

Who pays for tolls?
bullet You are responsible for paying any and all toll charges you incur during your reservation. iCar vehicles are
equipped with EZ-Pass toll transponders that can be used for convenience. At the end of each month,
any member that used the EZ-Pass toll transponders will be charged for their usage. The member’s
debit or credit card on file will be charged.

Who pays for gas?
bullet We do! One of the many benefits of being an iCar member is that the cost of gas is included with
your membership. Please use the gas card provided in your vehicle to fill the tank when the gas level
  is nearing ¼ tank.

Can I reserve an iCar by the hour or day?
bullet Yes! Members can reserve a vehicle for as little as one hour or days at a time.
bullet Reservations made for more than 3 days or if an original reservation is extended beyond 3
days, we will charge the member’s debit or credit card on file for the full cost of the reservation
  within 24 hours.
bullet Note: Some vehicles are only available by the hour.

Do iCars have automatic or standard transmissions?
bullet All iCar vehicles are equipped with automatic transmissions.

Are any iCar vehicles equipped with hand controls?
bullet Yes. We can equip some vehicles with hand controls upon request of our members. Please
provide a minimum of 7 days notice from the start time of the reservation and 24 hours notice
prior to your reservation for us to install the system in your reserved vehicle. This will allow iCar
staff to make reasonable accommodations. Notice must be given by phone by calling 617-682-
  8200.

Are there any other fees involved?
bullet For a list of potential fees and additional charges, please visit our Fees & Penalties page.

Do iCar vehicles come with GPS Navigation Systems?
bullet Yes, some iCar vehicles are equipped with built-in GPS Navigation Systems for your
  convenience.

iCar Policies:

What happens if I return a vehicle late?
bullet Our system is live and in real time so it’s likely that someone will be waiting to pick-up the vehicle you
are using at the end of your reservation. Believe us when we say it’s a real drag when you don't
return your vehicle on time. Although most members observe that simple rule, sometimes stronger
motivation is needed. Hence, iCar has the following late penalties: minimum of $35 per
reservation fee in addition to regular charges.
bullet When you’re making your reservation, allow for an extra 15 - 30 minutes if you have any doubt
about being able to return your car on time. You can also extend your reservation using the white
communication unit mounted on the windshield inside the vehicle just above the rearview mirror.
Please keep in mind that it’s not always possible to extend your reservation once you have the vehicle –
another member may have already booked the vehicle.

What happens if I show up for my reservation and the previous reservation has not returned?
bullet The late charges paid by the member returning your reserved vehicle late will be credited to your
account as driving credit less any reimbursed travel expenses if we cannot substitute another
  vehicle.

Can non-iCar members drive iCar vehicles?
bullet No absolutely not. iCar members are the only authorized operators of iCar vehicles. Failure to comply
with this policy will result in membership termination. The iCar member holds sole liability for any
damage that occurs during the reservation.

Do iCar vehicles come with baby or toddler seats?
bullet Sorry our vehicles do not come with baby or toddler seats. If you require a baby or toddler seat,
you can pick one up at our our office. Please call 617-682-8200 for more information.

What happens if I get a parking ticket or other violation while in an iCar?
bullet Members are responsible for paying any and all violations they receive during their reservation
  including parking tickets.
bullet Please be advised that if you do not pay your parking ticket or other violation in a timely manner
(as stated on the ticket), additional penalties and administrative fees may apply. So, we ask that
  you please pay them immediately.

Can I smoke in an iCar vehicle?
bullet No, absolutely not. All vehicles in the iCar fleet are non-smoking vehicles.
bullet Any members or passengers smoking in a vehicle will be charged a minimum penalty of $50 and
  their membership may be terminated.

Can I take my pet in an iCar vehicle?
bullet Pets are allowed in all of our vehicles as long as they are in a locked pet carrier that contains all pet hair.
Members are responsible for the removal of any residual pet hair at the completion of their reservation.
Failure to comply with this rule will result in a $50 penalty.
bullet Licensed service animals used by members or passengers with disabilities are an exception.
Service animals are allowed in the car without a pet carrier.

If I reserve an iCar in the U.S., can I drive out of state or in Canada?
bullet Yes. There are no state restrictions.
